A timely story offering intrigue, suspense, and inspiration.

Master Gunnery Sergeant Bradley Harding is nearing the end of his enlistment and is looking for a place to start a new life. But even as he wrestles with demons from his years of combat, he must first get answers for questions from his troubled past that have plagued him for far too long.

But in his search for the truth, he discovers far more than he expected while staying at the quaint Baxter House in the cozy coastline resort community of Blocker’s Bluff, South Carolina.

Amidst a wealth of charming characters and compelling drama, Baxter House is an inspirational tale about love, pain, fear, hope, and the inextricable bond of family—with more than a few surprises along the way.

“In a poignant tale of small-town secrets, broken relationships, and the resilience of family, Encizo tells an engaging story filled with well-developed characters. Themes exploring such topics as post-traumatic stress disorder and biracial marriages only add to the richness of the narrative. Encizo has crafted an entertaining and well-written addition to the literature of the American south.” RECOMMENDED by the US Review

“Encizo’s novel about going home has many characters, but they are all well developed with distinct voices. The prose is outstanding and the dialogue is believable and engaging. the pace deftly moves the reader from one chapter to another – and readers are likely to enjoy the many layers of plot embedded to the very end.”  9.25 out of 10  The BookLife Prize in Fiction

I very much enjoyed Baxter House. Author George Encizo has done a wonderful job in creating characters that his readers will be able to relate to, will connect with, and will truly come to care about, thinking of them long after the last pages are read. 1. A fascinating story, one that had me turning pages eager to see what happened next. and Miss Baxter, she reminds me of so many grandmothers I know. I’ve read all of Encizo’s books and loved everyone of them.
